Getaway by bike
Do you want to explore further towards the cliffs of the Côte d’Albâtre, or Alabaster Coast, or the banks of the Seine?
A new cycle touring itinerary allows cycling enthusiasts to discover the area further.
Running both ways between Veulettes-sur-Mer and Caudebec-en-Caux, this new cycle-route allows you to take country roads and discover the characteristic landscape of Pays de Caux.
It leads from the majestic cliffs of the Côte d’Albâtre to the banks of the Seine, crossing the Yvetot region of Normandy. After the Vallée de la Durdent, our pretty country roads will take you to Roquefort, with its meadows as far as the eye can see and its château. The itinerary will then lead you to the village of Autretot, an excellent place to get away from it all, with its flower-filled streets and its typical Cauchois architecture (carriage house, dovecote, etc.). In June, you can enjoy pedalling through the fields of flax in bloom, which provide you with a spectacular range of colours.
After the exertion, a break in Yvetot will be a welcome relief. A picnic in the shade of an apple tree in the grounds of Manoir du Fay, the largest public clos-masure in Pays de Caux, or on the terrace of a restaurant? In any case, the capital of Pays de Caux has all the services you need. There’s restaurants, local shops, grocery shops, not forgetting its markets on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.
The rest of the route enables you to see le Val au Cesne, a veritable green oasis, a protected wildlife site covering almost 1,000 hectares, before heading towards Saint-Wandrille-Rançon and its abbey at the end of the trail.
This 56km cycle route, made up of cycle paths, greenways and country roads, also makes it possible to do a Tour de Seine-Maritime by joining up with the Vélomaritime® and The Seine at
