Step inside the heart of the oldest oak tree in France.

It’s 1,200 years old and owes its fame to its exceptional age and the veneration it has enjoyed since the Middle Ages.

In 1696, the village priest had two chapels built in its cavity, one of which is dedicated to Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix.

The millenial oak tree of Allouville-Bellefosse. It’s the only tree listed as a historical monument and attracts many curious visitors from all over France and indeed the world.

Take a breath of air as you walk along the Two Oaks Trail and also visit the CHENE Visitors Centre, La Classe des années 50 (The 1950s Classroom). Have lunch at the Bistro du Chêne, or make a stop for some sumptuous delicacies at the Les Gourmandises du Chêne bakery or the Le Panier du Chêne grocery shop which sells local produce.
